Straight from the Jerusalem Cloakroom #233

Feb. 5, 2010

Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger

“Second Thought,” Jerusalem

1. An assessment of the politically-correct Western policy-making, media commentaries and conventional wisdom raises the following questions:

*Is the Palestinian issue the crux of Middle East turbulence?

*Is the Arab-Israeli conflict the core cause of anti-Western Islamic terrorism?*

*Are Arab leaders preoccupied with the Palestinian issue and with the Arab-Israeli conflict?

*Is the Arab-Israeli conflict “The Middle East Conflict”?

*How valid is the contention that, in the Middle East, on words one does not pay custom, hence the awesome gap between rhetoric and reality?!

2. An analysis of Middle East politics during the last 1,400 years documents the following: Continue Reading »

The Top 10 Apologies Barack Obama should make to the world

By Nile Gardiner World

The first year of Barack Obama’s presidency was marked by a series of embarrassing and groveling apologies for his country on the world stage. From his apology to the French for America’s supposed “arrogance”, to his massive mea culpa before the Muslim world in Egypt, President Obama succeeded in elevating national humiliation into an art form.

In his second year, I would strongly encourage the president to stop apologising for his country, and project more pride in his great nation’s past. The United States, together with Great Britain, have done more to advance the cause of liberty and freedom on the world stage than any other nations in history. From defeating the menace of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Empire, to liberating tens of millions of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, the US and UK have consistently been at the forefront of the defence of the free world in the face of tyranny.

If President Obama does feel the urge to show contrition on the world stage in 2010, he should apologise not for his country but for his administration’s shoddy treatment of its allies as well as political dissidents fighting for freedom across the world. He has also shown extraordinary indifference towards the victims of Communist rule in Europe, as well as the hundreds of thousands who perished in Darfur at the hands of the Sudanese regime. While every dictatorship on earth, from Iran to Venezuela to Sudan has been earmarked for engagement by the Obama White House, some of America’s closest friends and supporters have been shunned, humiliated or left out in the cold.

So here is a list of apologies that Barack Obama should make on behalf of his own administration, for undermining America’s traditional alliances, treating America’s friends with contempt, and refusing to side with the victims of totalitarian regimes. Continue Reading »

b. Two explosive devices were found on in barrels on beaches in southern Israel. The devices appear to have been cast a float from Gaza. Two additional devices were intercepted and detonated at sea.

c. Investigations are continuing into the killing of Hamas commander Mahmoud al-Mabhouh in Dubai.

ii. Dubai authorities have refused to permit Hamas to participate in the investigation.
iii. Osama Hamdan, a Hamas leader in Lebanon, stated It is quite possible that Palestinian Authority security forces were involved.”
iv. Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast stated This is another indication of the existence of state terrorism by the Zionist regime.

Shoe bomber Richard Reid ( may his name be blotted out) was quietly convicted and sentenced with no hooplah or media circus. May he rot in jail or better yet hang himself to save taxpayer money. Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say. His response: After admitting his
guilt to the court for the record, Reid also admitted his
‘allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the
religion of Allah,’ defiantly stating, ‘I think I
will not apologize for my actions,’ and told the court
‘I am at war with your country.’

Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:

January 30, 2003, United States vs. Reid.

“Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to
the sentence the Court imposes upon you.

On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4and 7, the Court sentences you to 20 years in
prison on each count, the sentence on each count to run
consecutively. (That’s 80 years.)

On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon you for each of the
eight counts a fine of $250,000 that’s an aggregate fine
of $2 million. The Court accepts the government’s
recommendation with respect to restitution and orders
restitution in the amount of $298.17 to Andre Bousquet and
$5,784 to American
Airlines.

The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it. But the life sentences are real
life sentences so I need go no further.

This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and just sentence. It is a
righteous sentence.

Now, let me explain this to you. Continue Reading »

1. Middle Eastern diplomacy

a. Palestinian sources report that U.S. Middle East envoy George Mitchell has proposed resumption of low-level Israeli-Palestinian negotiations and that Israel make confidence building gestures. These include ceasing Israeli military operations in areas under control of the Palestinian Authority (PA), releasing prisoners, and allowing more building materials into Gaza.

b. Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon addressed the plenum of the Council of Europe in Strassbourg during a debate on the Middle East. He also met Mevlüt Çavusoglu, the new president of the Council of Europe and a member of the ruling Turkish AKP party. Ayalon stated “the meeting was held in a very, very warm atmosphere. I congratulated him for being the first Turkish and Muslim official to be elected as the president of the Council of Europe.”

In the Muslim faith a Muslim man can marry a child as young as 1 year old and have sexual intimacy with this child. Consummating the marriage by 9.
The dowry is given to the family in exchange for the woman (who becomes his slave) and for the purchase of the private parts of the woman, to use her as a toy.
Even though a woman is abused she can not obtain a divorce.
To prove rape, the woman must have (4) male witnesses.
Often after a woman has been raped, she is returned to her family and the family must return the dowry. The family has the right to execute her (an honor killing) to restore the honor of the family. Husbands can beat their wives ‘at will’ and he does not have to say why he has beaten her.
The husband is permitted to have (4 wives) and a temporary wife for an hour (prostitute) at his discretion..
The Shariah Muslim law controls the private as well as the public life of the woman.
In the West World ( America ) Muslim men are starting to demand Shariah Law so the wife can not obtain a divorce and he can have full and complete control of her. It is amazing and alarming how many of our sisters and daughters attending American Universities are now marrying Muslim men and submitting themselves and their children unsuspectingly to the Shariah law. If you believe the hype, the United States has a valu able new ally in the War on Terror: American Muslim leaders. Alas, it’s called “hype” for a reason.

Yes, some American Muslim groups are making a show of undertaking a sincere campaign to oppose terror, purge jihadis, help disrupt networks and thwart plots.

At Christmas Day bomber Umar Abdulmutallab’s arraignment this month, some 50 Muslims rallied outside the court, carrying placards that read “Not in the Name of Islam,” chanting “We are Americans” and waving US flags. Majed Moughni, who organized the protest, vowed to “take our religion back” from terrorists like Abdulmutallab.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a leading American Muslim group, (coincidentally?) uses almost verbatim language in its “anti-terror” campaigns. (Check out CAIR’s Web site — its anti-extremism rhetoric could’ve been written by Dick Cheney.)

CAIR recently won tremendous press after informing officials that five young American Muslims left their homes in Virginia to wage jihad in Pakistan. In a sign of how low expectations had sunk, the media took it as a “man bites dog” story — a leading Muslim group aiding law enforcement. Continue Reading »

They invited a notorious hatemonger to speak on de-radicalization.

Following the attempted bombing of Northwest Flight 253 on Christmas Day, the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) has come under fire for failing to connect the dots concerning bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab. But new information concerning the NCTC’s de-radicalization expert, Yasir Qadhi, raises questions about how far the rot of political correctness extends within the agency most responsible for connecting the dots.

Qadhi’s association with the NCTC came to light late last week in a report by CNN that Abdulmutallab had attended a 16-day conference in Houston sponsored by the AlMaghrib Institute, where Qadhi is a featured instructor. The report also noted that Abdulmutallab had attended two other AlMaghrib events in the UK.

Qadhi spoke to CNN on behalf of AlMaghrib, attempting to explain away the terrorist’s repeated attendance at his organization’s events. Towards the end of the CNN report came a disturbing revelation: Continue Reading »

Only recently have I become aware of the depths to which political correctness has permeated our culture. I knew it was bad, but I didn’t know how bad. It’ll be the ruin of us if we don’t kill it and comb its nits out of our hair.

I began to get a clue at a private reception for Dutch Member of Parliament Geert Wilders in Washington last February. After Wilders was escorted out by his bodyguards (radical Muslims ordered him killed for making a movie called Fitna), I found myself in extended conversation with a young Defense Department analyst who had been tasked by the Joint Chiefs of Staff to research and report on the ideology of our radical Muslim enemies. He immersed himself in Islamic law and came to the conclusion that it’s the radical Muslims who appear to have the doctrinal base in Islam, not the moderates.

He said that most of the highest officials at the Pentagon rejected his brief. Then they rejected the young man himself – and that was during the Bush Administration. The Pentagon, he said, “as an institution,” wanted to believe that the Radical Muslim interpretation of jihad, which is holy war against infidels worldwide – convert them or kill them, was an aberration. There are those in the international community who claim that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the root cause of the Middle East’s problems. Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been among the most prominent of these voices.

In his article “A Battle For Global Values” (Foreign Affairs, January/February 2007), Tony Blair reiterated what he has expressed in previous public statements: “How can we bring peace to the Middle East unless we resolve the question of Israel and Palestine?” Achieving peace, he continues, “would not only silence reactionary Islam’s most effective rallying call but fatally undermine its basic ideology.”

More recently, in a speech at the Istanbul Forum in October, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan named the lack of a Palestinian state as the crux of all problems in the Middle East. In so saying, he echoed a speech by his own Foreign Minister, Ali Babacan, at the Annapolis conference, who declared that “the Palestinian question is at the epicenter of all problems in the Middle East. The resulting climate of despair, hatred and pessimism continues to haunt the region and create a breeding ground for extremism.” Continue Reading »

Classy lassie, Mother Superior, has been commenting so prosaically and prolifically in the good fight, that her most recent thoughts deserve their own space.
Go get ‘em, sister.

You know Lawrence, it is reported that 2,000 Christians have been killed in Iraq alone since 2003. Today it was reported that the Iraqis are going to build a huge mosque over the tomb of the prophet Ezekiel in a continued effort to obliterate any Jewish or Christian historical presence in their lovely country, a land, as the story I read points out, where Jews lived for over a thousand years before the turd of Islam was shit out.

How many Muslims have been killed in America in since 9/11, just to use a starting point for any retaliatory acts against these people?

Then again, there was that Muslim chick who says her head scarf was pulled after Assan went on his holy mission in November. Poor baby.

Christians and Jews are being murdered and persecuted all over Muslim totalitarian states and theocracies and in our own countries as well, … but how many Muslims have been killed in America out of retaliation? I only keep hearing about honor killings, Muslim fathers killing their daughters here, Muslim boyfriends throwing acid in their girlfriends’ faces, Muslim husbands chopping off their wife’s head. I can’t think of one instance of an American killing a Muslim here for his or her politically religious and racist ideology?

I’m sure it’s simmering. I’m boiling.

Sorry Mr. President–I just don’t forgive you. How dare you think you can demonize one of the most moral nations in history–and get away with your crimes. How dare you blame Jews for your pathetic world view, which gave credibility to the most evil characters on the face of the planet. Your apology is worthless.

President Jimmy Carter will undoubtedly be known as the worst president in American history. He allowed the Shah of Iran to fall and the evil Khomeni to gain power, giving Muslim extremism the fuel to spread like cancer throughout the world–ultimately leading to 9/11. His presidency was a true calamity from interest rates skyrocketing to 21.5% to the disastrous rescue attempt of the US embassy hostages, to the Carter “malaise” he created
throughout America. A total catastrophe and tragedy would sum up the Carter administration at its best. I mean, a born and bred true Polish anti- western antisemite in the tradition of those who aided the Nazis, actually became his National Security Advisor—Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Carter’s cute little “al chayt” prayer of forgiveness is as impressive as Jeffrrey Dahmer’s apology cries. The ex-President finally realizes what a total putz he is–so what? “We must not permit criticisms for improvement to stigmatize Israel,” Carter wrote recently. Please Jimmy, save those platitudes for your wife. Continue Reading »

Terrorist bares horny shame in teen Web rants

By LEONARD GREENE

The bomb wasn’t the only thing burning in his pants.

Internet postings from accused knicker-bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab reveal him to be a sex-starved, lonely, depressed man who felt shame over his carnal urges.

“As i get lonely, the natural sexual drive awakens and i struggle to control it, sometimes leading to minor sinful activities like not lowering the gaze [in the presence of unveiled women],” a poster who goes by the handle “Farouk1986,” wrote on an Islamic Forum Web site, gawaher.com.

“And this problem makes me want to get married to avoid getting aroused . . .

“But i am only 18 . . . It would be difficult for me to get married due to social norms of getting to the late 20’s when one has a degree, a job, a house, etc before getting married.”

No matter how difficult it was to balance his Muslim and secular worlds — he was tortured about his “dilemma between liberalism and extremism” — Abdulmutallab always brought the discussion back to his most pressing dilemma: sexual desire.

“The hair of a woman can easily arouse a man,” Farouk wrote, one of hundreds of entries posted between 2005 and 2007.

“The Prophet advised young men to fast if they can’t get married but it has not been helping me much and I seriously don’t want to wait for years before I get married.”

For Abdulmutallab, 23, even his fantasies were steeped in carnal conflict, highlighted by an inner battle between good and evil.

“So usually my fa[n]tasies are about islamic stuff,” he continued. “The bad part of it is sometimes the fantasies are a bit worldly rather than concentrating in the hereafter.”

He was also agonized about going to his prom.

JINSA Report #951

December 29, 2009

It was bad enough that United States agents failed to take seriously the visit by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s father, a prominent banker, to the U.S. Embassy in Nigeria to report his concerns about his own son’s associates and behavior. It was bad enough that spokesmen for the U.S. government later said the father’s concerns, “didn’t rise above the level of noise.” It was bad enough that after the attempt to blow an airliner out of the sky with more than 200 people aboard was thwarted only by the brave instinct of a passenger, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano said that all the security systems worked (a statement she was forced by public ridicule to recant). And it certainly was bad enough that the U.S. government moved first to its default position that Abdulmutallab was a lone actor, not a card-carrying member of a terrorist group.

And it was unfortunate that when President Obama finally made a public statement three days later, the best he could do was note that, “This was a serious reminder of the dangers that we face” and “It’s absolutely critical that we learn from this incident.” Continue Reading »

Gay in Arabia

Merry Christmas to all our dick smoking friends in the Gayrab World

Beirut is a great place for gay men to party, according to Michael Luongo, who signed copies of his “Gay Travels in the Muslim World” — recently translated into Arabic and given a more demure cover — at a book fair in the Lebanese capital. “After the book signing, I went to the Helem Christmas party — it’s the local gay group — and danced the night away, getting smeared with glitter by drag queens and covered in sweat by shirtless, hairy Arabian bears,” Luongo told us. “It was a good night!” Next stop is Syria.

Obama team bungles again

By BENNY AVNI

The Obama administration is effectively siding with America’s enemies in Leba non.

Sure, President Obama said all the right things after his Monday meet-and-greet with Lebanese President Michel Suleiman. But Suleiman is aligned with Syria — and thus, by proxy, with Iran and the Hezbollah terrorists.

Hezbollah, recall, is responsible for killing 220 US Marines in 1993 and for the murder of scores of innocents in places as far as Argentina.

Meanwhile, the administration in the last few months has told the heads of the Western-allied Lebanese factions — who used to visit Washington to discuss ways to confront Iran, Syria and Hezbollah — not to bother, because no one would see them.

Sure, Obama noted Monday that “President Suleiman and I aren’t going to agree on every issue with respect to how Israel, Lebanon, the Palestinians, Syria, are interacting.” He also called for an end to arms smuggling to Hezbollah and repeatedly called Lebanon’s place in the region “critical.”

But simply by holding the meeting — when he has yet to schedule one with Lebanon’s pro-Western prime minister, Saad Hariri — Obama was sending a message about who America sees as important. Continue Reading »

More reasons why no one should ever leave Gitmo alive

A former Guantanamo detainee has emerged as a leading ideologue and theologian for al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula — one of the strongest al Qaeda affiliates in the world.

Pakistani authorities captured Ibrahim Suleiman al Rubaish in late 2001 and handed him over to US officials, who transferred him to Guantanamo. Rubaish was held there until Dec. 13, 2006, when he was sent to Saudi Arabia and placed in the Saudi rehabilitation program for jihadists. At some point, he escaped and fled south to Yemen, along with several other ex-Gitmoites.

In February, the Saudis placed Rubaish, and at least 10 other ex-Gitmo detainees, on its list of 85 most-wanted terrorists.

Rubaish has become an influential proponent of waging jihad against the Saudi royals. According to a Jamestown Foundation analysis, he has risen to the rank of mufti within al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula — playing the crucial role of providing theological justifications for the organization’s terrorism. EXCLUSIVE Analysis: Sorry, Islamophobia Pimps – 67% of US Hate Crimes Against Jews

Well, the FBI official hate crimes statistics are out for 2008. And like every year since the 9/11 Muslim terrorist attacks on America, the vast majority of religious hate crime victims on U.S. soil are America’s . . . Jews. While the Pentagon and US Army did overtime pandering to Muslims like Nidal Malik Hasan, the real hatred was against one set of his mortal enemies.

I suppose that the explanation for the number of reported hate crimes against Jews is about ten times that against Muslims is that Muslim hate crimes go unreported. If you believe that you have sand for brains. Any time Muslims can’t dictate their way of life to others they cry foul. I can’t imagine any hate crime against Muslims going unreported. Even when a Muslim commits a hate crime it’s claimed that it was only done as a response to victimization.

How about this for crime statistics.
Why can’t we get the FBI to release the religion or ethnicity of the perpetrator so we can see where the hatred is coming from?

If that is politically incorrect, then to quote Luther Ingram,
I don’t wanna be right.

O appoints “moderate” Muslims to Homeland Security posts‏

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/11/obama-adminstration-appoints-muslims-to-key-homeland-security-posts—-but-theyre-moderates-arent-th.html

Obama adminstration appoints Muslims to key Homeland Security posts –
but… they’re “moderates,” aren’t they?

The track record of the two appointees, taken together with the
administration’s own ability to distinguish “moderates” from
“extremists” inspires anything but confidence. After all, the Fort
Hood jihadist was himself a member of a panel advising the incoming
Obama administration.

At the heart of this issue are the politically correct articles of
faith that few dare blaspheme, which insist that there is nothing
problematic about Islam’s core texts and teachings regarding warfare
and the rights of women and unbelievers, and that there exists a
well-defined “moderate” Islam that the West can work with. The problem
is, no one ever stops to define “moderate,” for fear that articulating
actual standards may cause offense.

“Devout Muslims In Key Homeland Security Posts,” by Judicialwatch via
Right Side News, November 22:

Days after a devout Muslim terrorized a U.S. Army base in Texas
several news reports remind that two key Homeland Security posts are
occupied by equally devout Muslims, one of them a former Los Angeles
deputy mayor who eliminated a crucial program that tracked terrorist
activities in the city.

Earlier this year President Obama appointed Arif Alikhan to be the
nation’s Assistant Secretary for Policy Development at the Department
of Homeland Security and Kareem Shora to the agency’s influential
advisory council, which provides recommendations and advice directly
to the Secretary of Homeland Security.

Alikhan, who leads a Homeland Security team responsible for developing
policy issues to secure the country against terrorism, has referred to
the renowned terrorist organization Hezbollah as a “liberation
movement” and was responsible for killing a Los Angeles Police project
that monitored terrorist activities in the city’s notoriously radical
mosques. The defunct Muslim terror tracking plan was designed to
identify hotbeds of extremism in an area where several locals offered
the September 11 hijackers support.

Shora was the head of a well-known Arab organization whose officials
refer to anti-U.S. jihadists as heroes. As executive director of the
American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Shora had close
ties to radical Ivy League professor Rashid Khalidi, a Palestinian
terror supporter who has reportedly worked on behalf of the extremist
Palestine Liberation Organization….
